i dont want pitty
i want to help a whole city
the ones that helped me grow
and when i fell, they didnt go
ive heard the words of we will stand
i just want to see i can be that man
you say you could hire anyone?
im here cuz you believe in this one?
i want you to know not what i can be
but make me the one that others see
as what you are to me and more
i live not for what is promised instore
i dont want your money to rise
i want to stand on my own to no suprise
im not seeking help to live, dont insult me
i want to become what so many have said they see
dont mistake my respect as optionless
nor my words that i feel unblessed
i do thank you for all you do
but i want to be that one helping me like you
i dont want the promise of grandeur
i want nor the feeling of being secure
i wish not to only rise one day
but to stand upon the words you say
